Aid for Women® training adheres to Heartbeat International's precepts, using their The Love Approach manual, and a series of video tapes from International Life Services, featuring Sister Paula Vandegaer, LSW. All training sessions are held at 8 S. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1210, Chicago, IL, unless otherwise noted. Training materials and refreshments are provided. Volunteer Pregnancy Counselors
Provide telephone counseling to clients in crisis, make appointments and refer callers to appropriate Aid for Women® programs and community resources. Provide One-on-one counseling to clients who may be pregnant.

Home Hotline Counselors
Counselors provide accurate information and loving, caring non-judgmental guidance to callers from the comfort of their home.  They make appointments for pregnancy tests and refer callers to appropriate Aid for Women programs and community resources.

Volunteer Mentor
Provide ongoing support after the initial counseling session for young women who struggle with difficult problems related to pregnancy through one-to-one relationships.

Client Statistic Volunteer
Enter statistics into AfW client tools database, in-office one-on-one training provided. 

Community Outreach Volunteer
Help us meet others who might be interested in volunteering, especially as a counselor.

Help us obtain speaking opportunities at your place of worship, associations or academic institution.

Help us gather layette items for our clients and, at the same time, introduce us to others who might support this ministry by hosting a baby shower in your home or place of worship.

Support Volunteer
Join the Aid for Women® Auxiliary (or Junior Auxiliary) and introduce us to others who might be interested in assisting us with obtaining layette supplies for our clients and with an annual fund-raising event.

Help us identify additional client resources and funding sources through research in the library or online.

Become a liaison with your church community, to help organize events such as volunteer drives, baby showers and our baby bottle fundraiser.
