Since 2002 Aid for Women has offered one-on-one mentoring to over 300 girls and women who face pregnancy-related challenges. Between 10 and 15 girls participate in the Mentoring Program at a time. Each client in this program receives undivided care and attention from her Mentor Angel, who accompanies her throughout her pregnancy, praying for her, encouraging her and providing her with the most appropriate resources and referrals to meet her needs.
Benefits of the Mentoring Program are for life! Special support that helps a mother choose life for her baby affirms the mother’s life as well. The mother comes to understand how much her child depends on her love and nurturing and that positive lifestyle changes and healthy decisions are the answer for her and her child.
Clients and their Mentor Angels communicate over the phone and also meet on a regular basis. This ongoing communication with clients also benefits Aid for Women as it allows us to gain valuable feedback on our resources, helping us improve referrals and expand our resource directory. And of course, when our clients’ babies are born, we are so excited to welcome them into this world!
