Auxiliary Mission
The women's Auxiliary is a fellowship of women who, out of concern for
life, support the mission of Aid For Women®, Inc. by fundraising for client
needs and promoting community awareness.
Meetings
Quarterly meetings will be held for the entire Auxiliary in February,
May, September and November. Officers and committees will meet as often
as necessary.
Committees
Opportunities are available to participate in the following committees:
- Membership - Help host the annual fall Membership Tea
- Material Aid - Assemble baby layettes and organize baby showers to benefit Aid For Women® clients
- Fundraising - Assist in organizing the annual spring luncheon
- Publicity - Help in marketing the auxiliary and its events
- Client Reunion - Organize refreshments and gift collection for clients at the December client reunion / Christmas party celebration
Upcoming Events
Spring Luncheon: Join us on Saturday, April
19, 2008 for the 4th Annual Spring Luncheon in downtown Chicago at the
Mid-America Club (on the 80th floor of the Aon building on Michigan Avenue).
This elegant event will feature speaker Dr. William Blazek.
Dr. Blazek, a Jesuit Scholastic and native of Chicago,
is a Research Scholar in the Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown
University. He teaches as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine,
centers his clinical work on direct provision of care to Spanish-speaking
patients in the Division of Immigrant and Refugee Services of Catholic
Charities in Washington, and is a veteran of Operations Desert Storm and
Desert Shield. Join us as Dr. Blazek shares his reflections on Ignatian
spirituality, medicine and faith.
Membership
Auxiliary membership is available at varying levels of commitment - active,
associate, or inactive. By-laws, application forms, and additional information
are available upon request.

Junior Auxiliary
Aid For Women® is pleased to announce the formation of the Aid For Women®
Junior Auxiliary.
This organization is an exciting new fellowship of young women in grades eight through twelve which will help Aid For Women® in its life-affirming mission through volunteering and fundraising.
The Junior Auxiliary provides a fun way for its members to fulfill service hour requirements for school or confirmation preparation classes. The group will hold general meetings quarterly.
