Aid for Women is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit volunteer organization established in 1978 to empower individuals to make choices consistent with the dignity of the human person and the family.  Our message — of positive alternatives to abortion, the value of chastity and the noble and sacred role of motherhood — serves an ethnically diverse population of women in the Chicago metropolitan area.  Each year, thousands of women in difficult pregnancy situations are given unconditional compassion and the emotional and material support they need through Aid for Women’s counseling, client programs, on-going mentoring and residential program.

Aid for Women is the only life-affirming pregnancy center in Chicago’s downtown Loop with a second location in Berwyn, Illinois, and the only Chicago area pregnancy center listed in the Official Catholic (Kenedy) Directory.

At Aid for Women, we recognize that:

  • Life begins at conception.
  • Women considering abortion should be treated in a compassionate, honest and non-judgemental manner.
  • Expectant mothers should be given all the facts they need to make informed decisions regarding their future and that of their unborn child.
  • No woman should feel pressured into having an abortion for economic reasons.
  • No woman should feel pressured into having an abortion by others.
  • Women often need physical, emotional and economic support beyond their initial decision to choose life.
